Requirements

The ideal candidate must be in possession of a National Diploma or NQF Level 6 qualification in Community Development/ Social Science as recognised by SAQA coupled with 3 years’ experience in a community development/ administrative environment and a valid driver’s licence. Essential Knowledge, Skills And Competencies Required: The successful candidate must have Knowledge of the: Dynamics, culture and language of targeted communities; how government operates; Human Resources and Financial Management; Project management; relevant legislation; Local Government legislation ; Government policies, prescripts and legislation; Planning; Team work; Decision making skills; Problem solving skills; Networking skills; Leadership skills; Report writing skills; Employee development; Analytical skills; Presentation skills; People management; Good communication skills (verbal & written) with other Government organizations and Private sector and good computer literacy in MS Office.

Duties

The successful candidate will be required to Manage the Community Development Workers Programme within the district with the following responsibilities: Convene regular meetings with CDWs for briefing and reporting purposes on progress and problems experienced; Coordinate, monitor and report on the implementation of the CDW Programme within the 121 District; Promote and maintain stakeholder relations; Provide CDWs with relevant information on government programmes for communities to benefit; Manage the resources under your control.
