Requirements
Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification) plus an accredited secretarial diploma and/or administrative qualification on the level of NQF level 5 or relevant higher tertiary qualification; A minimum of 3 years’ experience in rendering secretarial/ administrative support services to management/ senior management. Competencies: Knowledge of the following: Filing and diary system; Database administration; Financial administration; Legislative framework governing the public service; OHS Act and procedures. Skills in the following: Good telephone etiquette; Computer Literacy; Language skills; Sound organisational skills; Good people skills; High level of reliability; Written communication skills; Ability to act with tact and discretion; Information gathering and analysis of information; Good grooming and presentation; Self- management and motivation; Typing and preparing legal correspondence and relevant documentation; Basic conceptual, interpretive and formulation skills.
Duties
Provide a secretarial/receptionist support service to the manager; Render administrative support services to the manager; Provide support to the senior manager regarding meetings; Support the manager with the administration of the manager’s budget; Study the relevant Public Service and departmental prescripts/ policies and other documents and ensure that the application thereof is understood properly.
