Requirements

An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree or higher qualification) in Education, Communication, Public Relations, Project Management and Social Science; A minimum of 1-year relevant experience; A valid code B driving license. Competencies: Knowledge of and working experience with: Implement legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and best practices relevant to the line functions; use information systems that support the management of knowledge and information relating to the line function; provide traffic safety education; plan and execute road safety interventions; create awareness and inform road users about traffic safety projects and road safety issues; conduct strategy planning; manage projects; implement strategic thinking processes; manage performance management processes; use general support systems; manage operational activities; manage procurement and tendering processes; 258 develop, implement, monitor and review policies and operational processes; manage modern systems of governance and administration; manage public service procedures, processes and systems; assess regional and local political, economic and social affairs impacting on the provincial government of the Western Cape; understand Constitutional, legal and institutional arrangements governing the South African public sector; manage public finance, human resources and related administrative processes; implement the Public Finance Management Act, 1999, National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury Instructions and other applicable financial policies, prescripts, directives and collective agreements; understand the functioning of the Province and the activities of sister departments and related functional areas; implement and support the policies of the government of the day; manage Labour Relations legislation and regulations; manage performance management processes; perform numeracy, literacy and computer-related functions; communicate effectively in the required language; Skills: manage projects; Other: communicate effectively; plan and organise activities and resources; solve problems; compile and write reports; work effectively under pressure; work irregular hours when required; meet tight deadlines; travel regularly away from the office when required.om office.

Duties

Render support with the planning and execution of road safety interventions in the Region; Render support with the hosting of road safety interventions in the Eden Region and provide feedback and solutions to improve service delivery; Accounting for progress and performance; Resource and Equipment Management.
