Campus National Department Academic - Development (Content) Number of Positions 1 Location - Town / City National Minimum Education Level Masters Degree Job Advert Summary Eduvos is looking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced Academic Content Writers / Subject-Matter Experts to develop postgraduate academic content for the Master of Science in Information Technology (MSc IT) programme at NQF Level 9 , with expertise in one or more of the following specialisation streams: Big Data & Business Intelligence, Cyber Security & Data Protection, and Software Engineering. Type of role: Independent Contract (Content Writers will be remunerated per submission) Purpose of the role: We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced Academic Content Developers / Subject-Matter Experts to contribute to the development of postgraduate academic content for the Master of Science in Information Technology (MSc IT) programme. The successful candidates will be responsible for developing academically rigorous, research-informed, engaging and outcomes-aligned learning content for NQF Level 9 modules within their respective areas of specialisation. Content Developers will work in collaboration with academic and learning design teams to ensure that all developed material meets the Institutions's academic quality standards, programme outcomes and postgraduate-level expectations. Minimum Requirements Minimum qualifications required: - A Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Business Intelligence, Digital Forensics, Technology/Innovation Management, Electrical & Electronics Engineering , or another closely related computing or technology discipline. - The qualification, postgraduate research and/or area of specialisation must demonstrate clear alignment with the module or MSc IT specialisation stream for which the applicant is applying. - Relevant technical and industry experience will be strongly preferred, particularly in specialised areas such as Cybersecurity and Data Protection, DevOps, Software Engineering, Digital Forensics, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Big Data, and Business Intelligence technologies . - A doctoral qualification (PhD) or current doctoral studies in a relevant discipline will be advantageous. - Evidence of postgraduate-level research, academic scholarship, publications, conference contributions, or other scholarly work within the relevant discipline will be advantageous. Minimum experience required: - Industry Experience - At least three years’ experience of lecturing and / or developing study materials in the Higher Education sector - Experience in creating interactive content on a learner management system (e.g. Moodle) will be highly preferable - Experience in setting assessments on various NQF levels - Publishing of academic journals will be advantageous Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities: As an Academic Content Developer, you would be responsible for the following: - Develop new learning material for students (study material and assessments), in collaboration with subject matter experts within the faculty by way of establishing communities of practice: - Follow development guidelines - Develop material to program specifications and Eduvos brand - Review material with moderator for quality assurance - Submit developed material for Copy Editing via the approved process - Upload / release material in required format to relevant platform - Review and update learning material and assessments - Resolve content related queries - Ingesting of module content where needed Areas of specialisation required: Applicants should demonstrate advanced academic, research and/or industry expertise in one or more of the following MSc IT specialisation streams: - Big Data & Business Intelligence - Cyber Security & Data Protection - Software Engineering Functional and Behavioural Competencies Technical / Functional Competencies - Writing skills - Proficiency in MS Office - Competence in field for which development takes place - Proficiency in a LMS system (Moodle) - Setting up a module page Behavioural Competencies - Initiative and responsibility - Constructive teamwork - Relations and networking - Effective communication (verbal and written) - Analysis and judgment / problem solving - Innovation and change - Systematic approach (planning and organising)
