Joining the Hollard Insure Pricing Team , you’ll support pricing, data management, analytics, product development, portfolio monitoring, and technical activities across the business. This is an opportunity to turn your academic foundation into practical actuarial experience while developing your technical, analytical, and commercial capabilities. What you’ll be trusted to own This is more than a graduate analytics role. It’s about learning how data, actuarial modelling, pricing, products, and technology come together to support better insurance decisions. You’ll: - Collect, validate, and consolidate data from different sources to produce accurate and timely reports. - Monitor portfolio performance across different business lines and segments, helping the Pricing Team identify trends and understand performance. - Assist with developing and maintaining reporting dashboards and management information tools that provide accessible and reliable business insights. - Extract, clean, reconcile, and verify data used in actuarial analysis and modelling, ensuring information is complete, accurate, and fit for purpose. - Develop and maintain code used to prepare, analyse, validate, and interpret data, with guidance from experienced technical specialists. - Help automate recurring data preparation, portfolio monitoring, and reporting processes to improve efficiency and consistency. - Assist with developing, testing, maintaining, and monitoring actuarial models and processes. - Monitor model performance and support the team in ensuring models continue to deliver expected outcomes. - Contribute analytical and actuarial support to product development initiatives and portfolio changes. - Support the implementation and testing of rating engine improvements, including pricing and product updates. - Assist testing teams during rate and product deployments to help ensure changes are implemented accurately and effectively. - Build strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders and provide ongoing support on pricing, products, portfolio changes, rating queries, and ad-hoc business requests. - Develop your understanding of Hollard policies, procedures, distribution models, regulatory requirements, and codes of conduct. - Bring curiosity and fresh thinking to the team by identifying practical ways to improve processes, solve data challenges, and contribute to change and innovation. Required Knowledge and Experience What you’ll bring - A strong academic foundation, a passion for numbers and problem-solving, and the curiosity to turn complex data into meaningful insight. - No formal work experience is required. This opportunity is suitable for graduates beginning their actuarial careers. - Up to two years of relevant exposure through internships, vacation work, university projects, or research activities will be considered. - Strong numerical and statistical capability, with the ability to conduct mathematical analysis, solve problems, and interpret results. - A foundational understanding of data management, including acquiring, organising, validating, processing, analysing, and interpreting data. - Foundational programming capability and an interest in using code for data preparation, analysis, modelling, and automation. - Practical exposure to tools or programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, VBA, or Git will be advantageous. - The ability and willingness to learn advanced actuarial and statistical software and apply technology to solve real-world business problems. - An understanding of modelling concepts and the ability to contribute to financial and pricing models for monitoring and planning purposes. - Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise activities and meet deadlines. - Clear written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to ask questions, explain information, and collaborate with stakeholders. - A curious, analytical, innovative, and improvement-focused mindset, with a commitment to continuously building strong technical skills. Educational Requirements Qualifications - Matric / Senior Certificate. - Bachelor’s or Honours degree in Actuarial Science , or another relevant quantitative discipline. - A commitment to pursuing an actuarial qualification, supported by evidence of appropriate academic progress and/or actuarial exemptions
