We are looking to recruit a Legal Specialist. - At Hollard , we don’t just process claims, we actively manage risk, protect value, and ensure fair outcomes. - We are looking for a Legal Specialist who brings strong legal expertise, commercial thinking, and disciplined execution to manage complex claims, recoveries, and litigation processes. Why This Role Matters - Contribute to reducing claims costs and improving recoveries - Ensure litigation decisions are commercially sound - Deliver high quality customer experience during claims processes - Strengthen governance and compliance across claims lifecycle What You’ll Do Claims Management & Recoveries - Process recovery claims efficiently - Conduct viability and cost benefit assessments - Interpret policy wording accurately Litigation & Legal Oversight - Assess when litigation is appropriate - Draft legal documentation including summons - Manage attorneys and external legal partners Operational Excellence & Governance - Maintain data integrity and financial accuracy - Track claims performance and turnaround times - Ensure adherence to SOPs and compliance standards Customer & Stakeholder Engagement - Deliver strong customer service - Manage queries and resolve complaints - Build relationships with stakeholders Continuous Improvement - Identify process improvement opportunities - Contribute to best practices and team knowledge sharing Required Knowledge and Experience - Minimuim of 3 years admitted attorney experience - 3-5 years short term insurance motor and nonmotor recovery and liability claims experience - 3-5 years public lability experience - Minimuim of 2 years Arbitration experience The Impact You’ll Make You will ensure claims are resolved effectively, costs are controlled, and recoveries are maximised, supporting business profitability and customer satisfaction. Educational Requirements - Matric - LLB / BCom Law - Admitted attorney - Accredited or trained by recognised bodies (Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa or Association of Arbitrators)
