It’s about understanding where capability gaps exist, creating learning experiences that address them, and making sure brokers have the product knowledge, regulatory understanding, and practical skills they need to succeed. We’re looking for a Learning Consultant: Personal & Commercial Lines who understands that. This role is the relationship owner for assigned brokerages and the front-line learning strategist responsible for understanding their development needs. You’ll conduct ongoing Training Needs Analyses, create tailored learning plans, coordinate delivery through Product Trainers and the LMS, and use data and feedback to ensure learning is relevant, measurable, and compliant. What you'll be trusted to own This is more than a training coordination role. It's about becoming a trusted learning partner to brokerages, understanding what their people need to perform at their best, and turning those insights into targeted learning interventions that make a measurable difference. You'll: - Serve as the primary Learning & Development point of contact for allocated brokerages, building trusted relationships with Brokerage Principals, Sales Team Leaders, Underwriting Leads, and Claims Leads. - Conduct structured Training Needs Analyses using surveys, interviews, performance data, claims insights, and underwriting referral patterns to identify capability gaps. - Translate identified needs into brokerage-specific learning pathways covering product knowledge, CPD, broader skills development, and micro-learning - Recommend the right learning approach for different audiences, from Microsoft Teams webinars and in-person workshops to online self-paced learning. - Coordinate training calendars, invitations, and follow-ups with Product Trainers and the Training Administrator while maintaining quality and brand standards. - Brief Product Trainers on brokerage context, priorities, and identified learning requirements to ensure training is targeted and relevant. - Work with the Internal Training Coordinator to maintain accurate broker profiles and learning information on the LMS. - Track broker learning progress across online and virtual programmes, including training uptake, completion, and assessment performance. - Maintain accurate broker learning data across segments, roles, competencies, invitations, attendance, and learner feedback. - Gather learning insights through pulse surveys and session feedback, working with Sales, Underwriting, and Claims teams to identify evolving development needs - Turn feedback and performance insights into recommendations for new or improved learning interventions. - Provide monthly learning dashboards covering adoption, completion, assessment performance, and overall satisfaction feedback. - Help ensure learning remains relevant, measurable, appropriately targeted, and aligned to regulatory and governance requirements. Required Knowledge and Experience What you'll bring A reputation for making learning practical, engaging, and relevant, with the insurance knowledge to understand what brokers need and the relationship skills to make learning happen. - 3 to 5 years' experience in insurance-related facilitation. - 3 to 5 years' working experience within the Short-Term Insurance sector. - Strong knowledge of Personal and Commercial Lines insurance products. - Sound understanding of Short-Term Insurance underwriting, claims, and policy processes. - Experience conducting Training Needs Analyses and translating identified gaps into meaningful learning interventions. - Strong facilitation skills with the confidence and presence to engage different audiences effectively. - The ability to interpret insurance policy wordings and translate technical information into clear, accessible learning content. - Experience with training calendar planning, LMS coordination, learner progress monitoring, and attendance tracking. - Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capability, particularly in broker-facing environments. - Strong communication, active listening, instructional translation, and content design skills. - A good understanding of FAIS, POPIA, and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) requirements within the insurance learning environment. - A customer and broker-focused mindset, with strong attention to detail, accountability, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning Educational Requirements Qualifications - Grade 12 / Matric as a minimum requirement. - NQF Level 4 or NQF Level 5 Certificate in Short-Term Insurance (120–150 credits) will be advantageous. - Regulatory Examination RE5 will be advantageous. - Class of Business certification in Personal Lines and/or Commercial Lines will be advantageous.
