Portfolio Bulk Water Services - Operations Job Type Classification Full Time Location - Town / City Johannesburg South Location - Site Zwartkopjes Job Advert Summary Rand Water is looking for a candidate to assist in performing maintenance work in the electrical department. Reporting to the Electrical Foreman, successful candidates will assist Supervisor / Artisan in maintenance of electrical equipment to ensure availability of an efficient plant and continuous water supply to customers. Minimum Requirements - Grade 12/ N3 certificate - NQF Level 4 Electrical Engineering certificate - 2 years working experience in the electrical field - Code EB or C1 Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass Rand Water`s K53 - Trade test Certificate will serve as advantage Primary Duties - Assist Artisans in the maintenance of electrical equipment and perform minor electrical installations in the plant and workshops - Installation of new cables, digging of trenches, strapping of cables and installing cable racks - Repairs of damaged equipment such as geysers, stoves, heaters and ovens - Replacement of faulty plugs, lights and isolators - Testing of low voltage cables, motors and locate fault using various testing equipment’s. - Conduct cable joints and fault finding - Ensure good housekeeping is maintained - Collect spares from the suppliers and stores Knowledge - OHS Act - Electrical fault finding - Knowledge of permit systems - Basic Hand tools - Electrical work instructions/ procedures Skills - Problem solving - Ability to communicate well with other people - Team player - Self-motivated - Leadership skills - Attention to details Attitude - Deadline orientated - Safety conscious - Good housekeeping - Performance driven - Ability to work without supervision - Accountability
