Portfolio Bulk Water Services - Operations Job Type Classification Full Time Location - Town / City Glenvista Location - Site Rietvlei Job Advert Summary Rand Water is currently looking for the Master Civil Technician Draughting to provide design drafting support to the Design Office in the Project Planning Department of the SAM Division in fulfilling the draughting requirements in the design of various civil engineering projects which contribute to optimal asset performance, optimal integrated engineering designs and exceptional customer services. The application of professional engineering drafting techniques to single and multi-discipline projects of varying complexity or situations is required. Minimum Requirements - National Diploma in Civil Engineering or B Tech Civil Structures - >10 years relevant draughting experience - Technical knowledge and experience in detailing of reinforced concrete, structural steel, earthworks, roads, drains and pipelines. - Extensive AutoCAD skills. - Additional knowledge of Revit Structures and/or Civil 3D and/or the TechnoCAD suite of programs, Structural steel detailing, civil detailing (roads, pipe specials, storm water drainage and sewers) will be advantageous - Must be registered as Pr. Techni Eng or Pr. Tech Eng. Primary Duties - Produce accurate and correct detail discipline specific design drawings and documentation for construction, produce in model form using 3D AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D or BIM or other programs to show complex designs from various points of view, provide technical support to the Design Engineer or team, provide technical support for construction of projects as well as liaison with other Engineering Departments to ensure completion of Project Designs on time. - Assist senior engineers on the draughting aspects of larger, more complex, multidisciplinary projects - Implement Rand Water standards on projects and designs - Working within the generally provided Rand Water engineering guidelines, based on an understanding of the company and its overall goals - Ability to use AutoCAD 2014 or later - Able to produce advanced concrete reinforcement detail drawings and bending schedules given design (area of steel) – All detailing to be done in accordance with SANS 10144 or able to produce structural steel detail drawings. - Able to use either Surfmate, Autopadds or Rebarmate. - Must be able to produce working drawings with minimal supervision. Knowledge - Precise application of pre-defined Standards - Punctuality and accuracy in the execution of projects - Participation in Section activities - The ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems. - AutoCAD Skills - Sound knowledge of different disciplines including reinforced concrete, structural steel and roads, services, electrical, mechanical, and pipelines design and detailing. - Up to date computer literacy and Autocad and BIM (3-D modelling) experience. - Minimum 6 months full time site experience. - Technical skill - Report writing skill - Communication skill - Problem solving skills Attitude - Honesty and integrity - Result orientated - Work well under pressure - Customer service excellence - Excellent communication - The ability to convert opportunities into cost saving realities - Programmed project deadlines to be met with accurate design details - Compliance to Legislature and Statutory requirements
