Portfolio Bulk Water Services - Operations Job Type Classification Full Time Location - Town / City Three Rivers East, Vereeniging Location - Site Zuikerbosch Job Advert Summary To ensure water demands and standards are complied with as instructed by Senior Process Supervisor – Operations and Process Quality Manager by supervising the purification and pumping of water at the various production facilities, and effective control over staff and equipment, therefore meeting the water demand required to supply customer consumption. Minimum Requirements •Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) • NQF 6 in Water care/ Water Science and Technology or equivalent • 3years' experience in water purification process• Desired: supervisory experience• Class V process controller classification • Valid driver’s license with the ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 test. Primary Duties • Control of water into systems by meeting water demands, no overflows/ low level trips. • Monitor raw water quality • Oversee slacking of lime process. • Washing of filters. • Sterilizing of filters when required.• Reporting of filters condition, condition of filter beds and valves • Storage and handling of cylinders, as per standard procedure • Stopping and starting of pumps • Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety requirements Knowledge •OHS Act and its application • Application of all ISO requirements • Calculations (concentration and dosing rates) • Operation of H.V electrical equipment, dosing pumps and large pumping units • Water purification and treatment process • Manpower utilisation Skills • Computer literacy • Conflict resolution • Mentoring and coaching to develop staff • Good interpersonal skills, communication skills (written and verbal )• Good leadership and sound labour relations skills • Analytical skills to do fault finding and problem solving Attitude • Assertiveness • Safety consciousness • Self-motivated. • Ability to work under pressure. • Maintain discipline
