Visit our website: www.rclfoods.com RCL Foods is seeking a Fitter and Turner to join our Milling Division based in Pretoria West. The role reports into the Maintenance Manager. Purpose: To manufacture, assemble, repair, and maintain mechanical components and equipment using precision fitting and machining techniques, supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant and production assets. This role contributes to equipment performance and availability by producing and restoring components to required specifications, reducing downtime, extending asset life, and supporting continuous production operations. Minimum Requirements NQF Level 4 Grade 12 or Matric Equivalent Certificates or N (C) V Level 4 Fitter and Turner Trade Test 4 – 5 years experience post trade experience Duties & Responsibilities Mechanical Maintenance & Repairs: Perform planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on plant machinery and mechanical equipment to support equipment reliability and plant availability. Diagnose mechanical faults, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective repairs to restore equipment performance. Inspect, test, service, clean, lubricate, assemble, install, and repair mechanical systems and components, including motors, drives, bearings, belts, steam, air, water, and pipework systems. Apply sound engineering and fault-finding practices to complete maintenance activities correctly and cost-effectively. Equipment Inspection & Asset Reliability: Conduct routine equipment inspections to identify defects, wear, and performance deviations before they result in failures or quality issues. Monitor equipment condition and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability, performance, and asset life. Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and enhancing operational efficiency. Maintenance Administration & Work Management: Execute maintenance activities in accordance with established maintenance processes, standards, and work instructions. Complete work orders, maintenance records, and related documentation accurately and submit them for review and approval. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, breakdowns, and corrective actions. Health, Safety, Quality & Housekeeping: Comply with health, safety, environmental, food safety, and operational standards applicable to the workplace. Use tools, equipment, chemicals, and personal protective equipment in accordance with approved procedures and regulatory requirements. Maintain machinery, work areas, and maintenance facilities in a safe, clean, and orderly condition. Support the safe operation of plant equipment and contribute to a culture of safety and risk awareness. Technical Support & Stakeholder Service: Provide responsive technical support to production teams and internal stakeholders to minimize operational disruptions. Share technical knowledge and guide colleagues on the installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment. Perform additional maintenance-related duties as required to support business and operational objectives. #LI-RT1
