About the role Join Shoprite in Cape Town as a Yes Learner (People Support) on a contract basis, contributing to the Human Resources team with a focus on employee engagement and support services. What you'll do - Assist in the implementation of employee engagement and talent development initiatives to promote a positive workplace culture. - Support the human resources team with day-to-day HR administration and employee support services. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. - Respond promptly and professionally to employee queries, providing information and guidance where appropriate. - Utilise HR information systems to update employee details and generate reports to support decision-making. - Coordinate and schedule meetings, training sessions, and HR-related events under supervision. - Assist in the onboarding process for new employees, including documentation and orientation activities. - Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient HR processes and support a technology-enabled work environment. - Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing workforce productivity and operational excellence. - Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to ethical HR practices at all times. What you bring - Minimum National Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. - Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. - Basic understanding of Human Resources principles and labour legislation. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook. - Familiarity with HR information systems or willingness to learn HR technology tools. - Excellent organisational and time management abilities. - Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. - Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role is advantageous. - Willingness to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
