Tracking Number AGR 44/2026 Department Agriculture Salary level OSD Enquiries Dr F Vries at (021) 808 5014 Location - Town / City Elsenburg Job Purpose The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to provide leadership and technical oversight for agricultural research support analytical services and spatial data technologies to enhance sustainable agricultural practices. Minimum Requirements An appropriate MSc degree in Meteorology/Environmental Science/Geoscience; Compulsory and valid registration with the SACNASP as a Professional Natural Scientist in the appropriate field of practice; A minimum of 6 years post qualification natural scientific experience; A valid code B driving license. Remuneration All inclusive salary package of Grade A: R 1 143 468 per annum (OSD as prescribed) Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
