Tracking Number DEDAT 28/2026 Department Department of Economic Development and Tourism Salary level 9 Enquiries Mr. T Malgas (021) 483 9148 Location - Town / City Cape Town Job Purpose The Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a qualified and competent individual to render a Supply Chain Management Service related to: Acquisition Management, Logistics Management, Demand Management and Contract Management. Minimum Requirements A relevant tertiary qualification at NQF Level 7 (Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Diploma) equivalent or higher; A minimum of 3 years Supply Chain Management experience at supervisory level. Recommendation None. Key Performance Areas Perform the functional operation regarding Acquisition and Logistics Management; Perform the functional operation regarding Demand Management; Preform the functional operation regarding Contract Management; Provide Human Resource and Financial Management. Competencies Knowledge of the following: Human resources management function; Constitutional, legal, and institutional arrangements governing the South African public sector; Provincial policy development processes; Financial management processes; Strategic sourcing and Preferential Procurement/BEE; Procurement activities; Procurement policies, procedures, and contract management; Client needs, planning and organising interpretation of policy matters; Financial norms and standards (Public Finance Management Act, National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury Directives/Instructions); SCM Systems (Syspro, Logis, Integrated Procurement System, Basic Accounting System). Skills in the following: Numeracy; Computer Literacy; Language skills; Economic; Financial Analysis; Problem-solving; Team-building and strong interpersonal; Presentation; Project management; Communication (verbal and written); Planning, organising and people-management; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Ability to work under pressure and to cope with high workload. Remuneration R 487 197 - R 573 897 per annum (Salary level 9) Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
